More and more gaming businesses are joining forces to fight this pandemic. This week, Bethesda and its parent company ZeniMax Media announced that it will be doing its part and will donate 1 million dollars to coronavirus relief. In addition, Bethesda will be hosting a series of charity streams in order to “keep you entertained and connected” while at the same time gathering more resources to fight this pandemic.

According to the statement, the biggest portion of the entire sum – $ 500 000  will go to a nonprofit organization called Direct Relief which is making sure to provide and distribute equipment to health care workers. $ 250 000 will go to UNICEF and the rest will go to some local charity organizations around locations where Bethesda employees work and live.

Bethesda is not the first company to do good during these uncertain times. Last month, Sony announced their Play At Home initiative, offering free games and 10 million dollars to small indie studios, Microsoft put together their own set of charity initiatives, EA and others are also doing something similar. The gaming industry stands united and strong!
