Beating Foes to Your Own Beat in Roguelite FPS Update
RoboBeat’s first update, out now, allows players to “cheat” and play this FPS in rhythm to any music of their choosing as long as they are uploaded in supported file formats, making this a rare rhythm-based shooter where gameplay is based on timing rather than spamming.
Developed by Swedish Simon Fredholm’s studio Inzanity and published by UK-based Kwalee, RoboBeat was first released on PC in May, 2024 with a later release on consoles and Nintendo Switch in January, 2025.
“Shoot to your own beat with the custom music feature. Simply upload & trim your track or leave it as it is in our in-game editor to auto generate beats that suit your play style,” the press release said and added: “The feature will support .wav, .mp3, and .ogg files.”

Bounty Hunt to The Beat With Cheats
The protagonist, Ace, is a famous bounty hunter on a mission to bring down the eccentric robot-showman Frazzer. Players will have to master shooting, wall-running, sliding, and even bunny hopping to navigate his twisted techno playground.
To maximize damage and shorten cooldowns, players must keep their actions perfectly synched with the music. This will also help with charged shots, damage multipliers, armor piercing rounds and more, according to the press release.
“You’ll want some slick moves to go with those slick new weapons. Your enemies aren’t going to wait around for you to take a dance break, so you’ve got to keep moving if you want to survive,” the press release said.
“Wall run, slide, double jump, bunny hop, and grapple hook your way through technicolour levels to give your enemies the runaround. Keep it fluid, keep it funky, and keep it moving.”

The game update also brings a cheats menu to the game where players can equip any weapon or utility they want, spawn specific enemies, and play in special rooms.
