Double Fine Productions is a widely known American video game development company which was founded by Tim Schafer in July 2000 and is now set in San Francisco. Tim Schafer is formerly known for his work in LucasArts, and as such, Double Fine Productions was able to get the rights in order to remaster some of the earlier LucasArts adventure game titles like Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle and some others. The Double Fine games like Psychonauts and Brutal Legend were critically praised, and one of their games, titled Double Fine Adventure, has been a record-breaker on Kickstarter, raising over a million dollars within 24-hours of its fund-raiser release. Double Fine games have experienced some major successes in their crowdfunding side, as such this allows them for some more decisive options regarding their choice of publisher. As of March 2014, the company has been helping other Independent developers, with their offices and publishing capabilities available to whoever is worthy.
