Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Steam Key (PC) GLOBAL

Sam is a six-foot canine detective with a nose for justice. Max is a hyperkinetic rabbity-thing with a taste for mayhem. Together they're the Freelance Police. Their cases here take them from the North Pole to outer space, and all the way to Hell and back.

It's a remaster of Telltale's second Sam & Max season, updated by a small team of the original developers at Skunkape Games. It reached Windows in December 2021.

Sam & Max Gameplay: Five Cases and One DeSoto

This is a classic point-and-click adventure told in five interconnected cases. Sam and Max face a showdown with Santa Claus, a race to subdue a giant volcano and a faceoff with a Eurotrash vampire. Then things get weirder. Between cases, you can take the wheel of their 1960 DeSoto convertible in optional driving mini-games. The hood decals and car upgrades you win carry over across episodes.

What's New in the Remaster

Here's what's been updated:

• HD graphics, with overhauled lighting and lip-sync.
• Finessed cinematography and remastered audio.
• Eight new music tracks, recorded with live jazz musicians.
• All five episodes in one collection.

How Long Is Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space?

Around 13 and a half hours for the main story, according to HowLongToBeat. The original season won IGN's Adventure Game of the Year award.

Is It for You?

If you like adventure games where the jokes matter as much as the puzzles, you'll feel at home. It's a single-player game, rated Teen by the ESRB.
