War is a bloody business and Creative Assembly seems to grasp that perfectly. Yesterday, the developer announced a new DLC pack for Total War: Three Kingdoms game called Reign of Blood. As the name suggests the add-on will paint your game in blood red starting June 27th.

While the new pack is only a small graphical add-on, it will still be sold separately. The main reason is the game’s rating. By selling Reign of Blood separately, the main game won’t get punished with an adult rating, leaving it as a more family-friendly experience.

It’s not the first time Creative Assembly did this to the Total War franchise. Previous games in the series also received a similar treatment introducing blood and gore with added DLC packs.
