If you’re a fan of The Last of Us game, you might already know that HBO is planning to release a new TV series based on this franchise. We wrote about it in our previous blog post. Yesterday, HBO shared some new details about the project and revealed the cast of The Last of Us TV series.

The main characters of The Last of Us – Joel and Ellie – will be played by two famous actors who you might remember from other popular TV projects. Joel will be played by the one and only Pedro Pascal who is known for his role in The Mandalorian, Narcos, and a bunch of other popular TV shows, while Bella Ramsey (she played the famous Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones) will assume the role of Ellie.

Announcing the cast indicates that The Last of Us TV series production might be well underway. While we still don’t have an official release date, it’s safe to assume that we can expect some more news in the coming months.

In case you didn’t know, The Last of Us is being adapted for television by Craig Mazin, whose most recent project was HBO’s miniseries Chernobyl. Craig Mazin is working together with Neil Druckman, co-director and writer of both The Last of Us games.
