What a welcome surprise! Last week, Netflix unexpectedly revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil CG series called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. According to the trailer, the series is based on the popular video game franchise and will be released sometime in 2021.

Here’s an official teaser trailer:

The series description over at Netflix’s page states:

“When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything. Resident Evil, a new live-action series based on Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, is coming to Netflix.”

From what we gather, the series will revolve around both Resident Evil 2 protagonists Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy who will have a new mystery to solve.

While we don’t know much about the series’ plot or the team making this project, it’s fairly safe to assume that we can expect some tie-ins with the upcoming Resident Evil Village game which should also come out sometime next year. This means it’s a great time to pick up Resident Evil games and get acquainted with the story of the game. You can find all of the games in our special Resident Evil Collection.
