So it begins… Riot Games officially revealed Episode 2 of their competitive hero shooter Valorant. With the new Episode that is planned to release today, developers hope to shake up the current meta and introduce plenty of changes to the popular online game. The biggest one is the new Agent called Yoru who will be representing Japan.

Here’s the official cinematic trailer that introduces Season 2:

And this is our first look at Yoru’s abilities in action:

From what we gather, Yoru will be a sneaky Duelist type of Agent that will have plenty of abilities allowing him to reposition without the knowledge of the enemy team. Moreover, in his kit, we can find an interesting tool to distract and misdirect enemies by creating fake step noise.

Here’s a full list of Yoru’s abilities:

C – FAKEOUT

Equip an echo that mimics footsteps when activated Fire to activate and send the echo forward, Alt Fire to place an echo in place, Use the inactive Echo to send it forward.

E – GATECRASH

Equip to harness a rift tether Fire to send the tether out moving forward, Alt Fire to place a tether in place, Activate to teleport to the tether’s location.

Q – BLINDSIDE

Equip to rip an unstable dimensional fragment from reality. Fire to throw the fragment, activating a flash that winds up once it collides with a hard surface in the world.

X – DIMENSIONAL DRIFT

Equip a mask that can see between dimensions. Fire to drift into Yoru’s dimension, unable to be affected or seen by enemies from the outside.

While Yoru’s kit does seem a bit too powerful, Riot Games said that they wanted to create a completely new type of agent that developers call “Stealthly Infiltration”, meaning that we can expect more sneaky heroes in the future.

John Goscicki, character product lead at Riot Games said that Yoru is an Agent that the team always wanted to create.

“The idea of ‘Stealthly Infiltration’ is something we toyed around with for years, but could never fit in the game. We felt that if we started from the ground up, we could create an Agent that revolved around the idea of ‘Stealthly Infiltration’ in some way.”

The new hero won’t be the only thing coming to Valorant in Episode 2. Riot Games also implemented some changes in the game’s competitive mode to allow solo and duo players to queue up for Immortal and Radiant matches. There’s also a new in-game leaderboard showing regional ranking of the best Valorant players.

Episode 2 Act 1 will also bring a new battle-pass, which will be available until March 1st. If you wish to purchase it cheaper, be sure to check out our Riot Points deals!
