In case you were wondering, the highly anticipated Crystal Dynamics’ game Marvel’s Avengers won’t be just a PlayStation 4 game. A new post on PlayStation Blog states that everyone who will purchase the game on their PS4 will be able to get it on PlayStation 5 for free.

The news was announced by Crystal Dynamics’s CTO Gary Snethen, who laid out plans for the future. According to a post, as soon as the team received their next-gen development kit, Crytal Dynamics started working on a PS5 version of Marvel’s Avengers, which should be full of enhancements compared to the PS4 version.

“PS5 greatly lifts the performance and graphics bar for consoles. The new GPU allows us to increase our texture resolution, push a higher level of detail farther from the player, enhance our ambient occlusion, improve our anisotropic filtering and add a variety of new graphics features such as stochastic screen-space reflections with contact-aware sharpening.”

In addition, the new version of Marvel’s Avengers will feature faster loading times due to the console’s SSD and make use of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback.

However, there’s no mention of Xbox Series X and whether it will get a similar type of deal.  We’d like to remind you that Marvel’s Avengers is not an exclusive game and is scheduled for September 4th release for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. Now we can add PS5 version which will be released with the next-gen console launch.
