Last May, Microsoft revealed their upcoming first-person adventure game Call of the Sea that was supposed to be one of the first next-generation games for Xbox Series X. However, we haven’t heard much about it since its official reveal. Until now… Yesterday developers released a new game trailer which shows some fresh footage as well as the launch date. Apparently, Call of the Sea will be released on December 8th and will be available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Here’s the trailer:

Even though Call of the Sea is a cross-gen game, the developer said that it will feature some exclusive enhancements only available for players who will play it on Xbox Series X. 4K resolution and a consistent 60 frames per second is just one of those next-gen features.

In case you haven’t heard about Call of the Sea before, you should know that it’s an interesting adventure game with a huge focus on complicated puzzles. The story of the game is heavily influenced by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, so gamers familiar with the Lovecraftian mythology will feel right at home with this game.

It’s also worth mentioning that it’s a first-party Xbox game, meaning that on launch you will be able to check it out through your Xbox Game Pass subscription without any additional cost, so if you don’t plan on jumping into the Cyberpunk 2077 hype train, be sure to give Call of the Sea a try.
