As expected, the latest Naughty Dog game – The Last of Us Part II – smashed PlayStation 4’s sales record and became the fastest-selling exclusive game of this console generation. According to the numbers generated in the opening week, The Last of Us Part II dethroned Uncharted 4 which previously held the title of the fastest-selling game on PS4.

According to GameIndustry.biz, in the UK The Last of Us Part II sold 1 percent more games than Uncharted 4. However, we should keep in mind that these numbers only include physical copies, so the true gap between the two might be even wider.

But the tables might turn in an unexpected direction fairly soon. Another thing that we should keep in mind is the general reception of the game. It’s no secret that early reviews of The Last of Us Part II were very positive. However, after its launch, the game was review-bombed on Metacritic and currently holds a 3.9 user score. This most definitely will impact further sales of the game.

In any case, the title is definitely worth playing. While some gamers might be pickering over the game’s story and some of its twists, there’s no denying that The Last of Us Part II has no match when it comes to the technical side of the game.
