If you’re among those who are still playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will be pleased to know that there’s a new update coming your way. The developers of this hit game announced that they will be releasing a special Halloween-themed update on September 30th that will bring tons of new stuff to the game.

Here’s a trailer:

According to the news, this new update will add a pumpkin farming feature. By engaging in this activity you will be able to grow and harvest pumpkins and use the items you get to decorate your avatar and your island with some spooky seasonal cosmetics. Of course, there is some candy that can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny. This activity will come with its own unique system where players will be able to unlock special recipes, create costumes, and more.

And that’s just a preparation… According to developers, the farming will be available up until the real event kicks off on October 31st. During Halloween, all of the players will dress up with costumes, and a new NPC called “A mysterious guest, Jack” will pop-up. Players will be able to spook him or other villagers as well as treat them with some candy in order to get some spooky in-game rewards. Sweet!

Rumor has it that the pumpkin farming system won’t go anywhere after Halloween concludes. Some data miners already found that this feature will stay and allow players to farm other vegetables with various other new recipes in the future.

Lastly, we should mention a new NookLink update which will land in October. This will allow players to perform Reactions by pressing a button on their phone without a need to browse through clunky menus.

And that’s just one event. According to Nintendo, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has plenty of free updates lined-up for the future. There’s already Christmas and Thanksgiving content being worked on by the team, so expect to hear more news come November.
