Summer is almost gone, but gaming on Xbox never stops. Yesterday, Microsoft finally revealed a new set of free Games With Gold for September. The pack includes Tom Clancy’s The Division and The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 for Xbox One players, while older console owners will get their chance to play de Blob 2, and Armed and Dangerous.
Tom Clancy’s The Division
While many gamers are currently enjoying Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, in the upcoming month Xbox One players will get to see a prequel for this highly popular multiplayer shooter. In Tom Clancy’s The Division, players will get to explore a post-apocalyptic New York City which was destroyed by a massive plague. In the game, you will create your own character, fight against various in-game factions, collect loot, level up and progress through an epic story. Tom Clancy’s The Division is a great way to get acquainted with the game’s setting and learn more about the world of The Division. This is a great gateway to the second game, so we really recommend it if you’re into these kinds of games. It will be available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers starting September 1st and will be available for download until September 30th.
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
If you’re looking for a more lighthearted game, you shouldn’t miss The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. It’s a comedy point-and-click adventure game created by a small company called King Art Games based in Germany. The game was originally released back in 2015 and received a lot of praise from gamers and game critics. If you like beautiful tales, be sure to download it to your Xbox One console. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 will become available on September 16th and will be available until October 15th.
de Blob 2
Platformer fans will also get something to play for free this September. de Blob 2 is a unique mix of 2D and 3D platforming where players will get to paint their game world. You will start your playthrough in a black and white world and will have to paint your levels in order to traverse them using various blobs found in the world. The game was originally released in 2011 but received a next-generation port for Xbox One in 2018. As always, Xbox One players will be able to enjoy this game through a backward compatibility feature. de Blob will be available from September 1st until September 15th, so don’t hesitate too long. We really recommend it!
Armed and Dangerous
Armed and Dangerous is yet another classic revived for the current generation consoles. The game was released back in 2003 for the original Xbox console and will become available to all Xbox players thanks to the backward compatibility feature. It’s a fun third-person action-adventure shooter that can be played solo or together with your friends. It’s worth mentioning that Armed and Dangerous was created as a parody for various famous fantasy franchises of the time including The Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, so if you wish to see how developers poked fun of these popular franchises back in a day, be sure to grab your free copy with Xbox Live Gold. The game will be available from September 16th until September 30th.
