One of the most popular racing game series Forza will make its way to Steam next month. Probably the most successful series’ entry, Forza Horizon 4 reportedly will launch on Steam on March 9th alongside its multiple expansions and card packs.

The news about this next venture was announced during the Xbox Wire presentation by Forza Horizon’s creative director Mike Brown. According to him, the game will support cross-play and allow Steam players to enjoy the game with their friends playing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Windows 10, and xCloud.

It’s worth mentioning that if you already own the game on a different platform, you won’t be able to transfer your progress to Steam. This means that if you want to have your Forza Horizon 4 achievements to be featured on your Steam account, you’ll have to start over.

This is not the first time Microsoft executives decided to bring their platform exclusives to Steam. In 2019 Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched there and received a lot of attention from platform gamers. Then it was followed up by Sea of Thieves launching on Steam in 2020. Seems like these games paved the way and set a precedent that made Microsoft look for other franchises suitable for Steam. We expect that Forza Horizon 4 game will be the first among many Forza series’ games launching on Steam in the future.

If you never tried Forza Horizon 4, we suggest you check it out. While the Steam version is still a month away, you can snag a cheaper copy of the game on other platforms.
