ESL Katowice is one of the most popular esports events in the whole world, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that rising esports discipline Fortnite will join the event this year. Last year the event hosted the PUBG tournament, but this time Fortnite will take its place with two separate tournaments taking place during the event.

The first one will be held on February 23-24th and will feature top Polish players and influencers, who will battle it out for the whopping 100 000 dollars prize pool. The second tournament, coming one week after the first one, will welcome another set of challengers from all over the world, boasting 500 000 dollars prize pool.

In addition to the esports, organizers of the event plan to have 200 Fortnite gaming stations in the venue, inviting fans of Fortnite to jump into action and test their skills with 50 000 dollars on the line.

To sum up, Epic Games are giving away 650 000 dollars over the duration of the event. Adding other traditional esports disciplines such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2 makes ESL Katowice one of the best paying esports events in Europe.
