CD Projekt Red released some sad news yesterday saying that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game won’t launch on November 17th as planned previously. Instead, the studio pushed back the game for 21 days and plans to release it just before the holiday season, on December 10th.

Here’s the message:

It’s not the first delay of the game. Previously, Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to come out in spring, but due to COVID-19 and remote work, developers said that they needed more time to get this game right. There were also a lot of rumors about studios’ developers needing to work some extra time in order to meet the new schedule.

Of course, there’s no need to mention that fans are not happy about this and already hard at work creating memes about CD Projekt Red’s schedule. However, we shouldn’t forget the fact that our world is in a very weird place right now, and releasing a huge game is a massive undertaking, so additional 21 days seem not too bad. We just hope that it’s the last time some of our staff members will try to reschedule their vacation time…
