Apex Legends fans finally got their first look at all the new things coming to the game in a couple of weeks. Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem starts on February 2nd and brings a new hero, new weapons and cosmetics, and new ways to play the game.

The start of the new season marks the debut of Fuse, a new character who seems to be fond of explosives. He’s described as a “blow-up-first ask-questions-later kinda guy”. Upon his arrival, players of the game will see significant changes to the game’s old Kings Canyon map, or as Respawn Entertainment puts it, “Fuse’s entrance has dramatically reshaped Kings Canyon”.

In addition to these changes, there’s a new weapon called The 30-30 Repeater rifle. Apparently, it will be the games’ first lever-action gun. As always, the new season brings new Battle Pass featuring a bunch of new cosmetics as well as a new Ranked Season.

One additional thing that’s worthy of a mention is that Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem release coincides with the game’s second anniversary, so we can expect some surprises. One of them might be an unexpected Nintendo Switch release. While the English version of the latest Apex Legends’ latest video doesn’t feature the news, in addition to the customary “play for free” message at the end that lists all available platforms, foreign language versions displayed another detail: “and play on Switch when season eight launches on Feb. 2”.

However, it seems that the Nintendo Switch version won’t feature any type of cross-play. Still, it’s a great bit of news for all Nintendo fans!
