Last night Nintendo hosted yet another Nintendo Direct stream where the company shared the latest news about new games, console features and more. February 13’s stream was about 35 minutes long and announced a total of 31 games coming to Nintendo Switch. To your convenience, we’ve prepared a short summary of everything that might be worth your time.

Super Mario Maker 2 announced

People who had Nintendo Wii U will probably remember Super Mario Maker which is considered one of the most successful games on the console. According to news, the game is getting a sequel which will be released this June. Like its predecessor, Super Mario Maker 2 will be all about creating your own Super Mario levels and sharing them with the rest of the world.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake

Older gamers might remember the year 1993 and a cute little The Legend of Zelda game called Link’s Awakening created for Game Boy console. It told a story about Link getting stranded on Koholint Island full of strange characters and monsters. Nintendo has announced that it will be remaking the game for Nintendo Switch giving it a deserved graphical overhaul. Link’s Awakening will be released sometime this year.

Switch welcomes the BoxBoy!

A famous Nintendo 3DS puzzle platformer series will make its way to Nintendo Switch at the end of April. The new game in the series titled BoxBoy! + BoxGirl! is a game that will offer two-player co-op gameplay spanning across 270 different levels.

Tetris battle royale – Tetris 99

Tetris 99 is definitely one of the big surprises on the Nintendo Direct show. It’s out now for Switch Online members and is absolutely free. The game will pitch you against 98 other Tetris players and will keep on testing your logical skills until only one player remains.

Astral Chain announced

PlatinumGames is known among the Nintendo Switch community as a studio who made some big hits over the years. You might know them if you’ve played NieR: Automata or Bayonetta series. During Nintendo Direct, the company has announced a new Switch exclusive game called Astral Chain, in which player assumes the role of a future cop and fights against giant monsters. The game looks really beautiful and we already cannot wait for its launch which is set for August 30th.

While these were the only new games that we’ve received, there were plenty of updates for the games that were announced previously. Fire Emblems: Three Houses revealed a bit of the game’ lore and dated the release on July 26th. Smash Bros. Ultimate also announced 3.0 update featuring Joker as a new DLC fighter.
